Our Privacy Policy
TankNet collects only aggregate information of visitors to it’s sites, including the domain name, visited pages, referring URLs, and other publicly available information. TankNet uses this information to help improve its web site and services.
TankNet does not sell or commercially make available specific information about its users or members other than in aggregate form, except in cooperation with law enforcement bodies in regards to content violations or violations of applicable laws.
TankNet maintains a database of member information which is used only for internal purposes such as notifying members of changes or enhancements to the forum, new services and products that may be of interest to them, and special events, or features that may be available only to members.
TankNet members may cancel their memberships at any time by emailing us at accounts@tank-net.org. When an account is cancelled, all user information is removed from the TankNet system related to that account, other than that in aggregate form.
Our Children's Policy
Please note - TankNet does not currently allow registration for children under the age of 13.
Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), effective April 20, 2000. COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulation establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We offer the following for the protection of children under 13 :
- TankNet will only collect personal information from persons who register for services provided by TankNet. These services are not directed toward children, and the initial registration process requires the registrant to indicate that his/her age is at least 13.
- Since TankNet is not responsible for the content of links posted by users or members, TankNet cannot ensure that such links have a COPPA children’s privacy policy in place. As a reasonable precaution, we will place a notice indicating this in our entry page.
- If any parent believes that information about his/her child was mistakenly collected by TankNet, the parent can contact TankNet using the information given below in order to find out what that information was, and may request to have such information deleted. In order to ensure the safety of the child in question, TankNet will require verification of the parent's identity.
