If you translate this article, further down it says that only 14 Iraqi T-72's were lost, and even then most of those were scuttled and/or hit by air/naval fire. I read on another page where the author claimed 7 M1's were lost to enemy tank fire at 73E (Including T-55's) where 6 crewmen died and 30 were injured.

It's not "btvt.narod.ru writer", it's a reprint of S.Suvorov's article. He is a good first-hand source on T-64 and T-72 in Soviet service, as well as various sales of our hardware to Arab states. He is not a good source on much else.

Suvorov wouldn't be much of a salesman if he told his clients the actual stats.
Of course in the long run he is doing everyone a large favor by fudging the numbers. The Ru achieves more sales, and the West has fun plinking more targets.
