1AD had some exercises this year with Romanians, Bulgarians and Russians on separate occasions. In each case, the US side was attending the planning workups with their laptops, planner software etc. and indicating to the foreign hosts that this was the future for operations. 1AD is, by the way, far behind the stateside divs in going digital for C4I2. Anyway, the foreign hosts of the planning conferences inevitably asked what happens in 2 weeks when the batteries are out of supply...a real threat that even Bill Gates has recognized in the cyber world.
